A Personal Year number is a timing overlay. You add birth month + birth day + the current calendar year, and reduce. The result, 1–9 (or a master), is read as the theme of that year in a repeating nine-year cycle.
It is not a forecast of events. It is a named climate. People who decide in January that “this is my 9 year, everything will end” will notice endings. That is the self-fulfilling problem with a nicer font.

Example: birthdate 14 March, year 2026.

Some readers begin the Personal Year on the birthday, not 1 January. Pick one and stay with it. January-start is easier to journal; birthday-start matches the solar-return instinct.
Universal Year is just the calendar year reduced (2026 → 10 → 1). Personal Year is you-plus-that-year. Do not read a newspaper “universal year” column as if it were personal.
