BaZi, or the Four Pillars of Destiny, is a Chinese system that reads birth year, month, day, and hour as four pairs of heavenly stems and earthly branches. The Day Master — the stem of the day pillar — is the foundation: it describes a person's core element identity, how they relate to the world, and what resources and pressures their chart generates. Luck pillars then map how that identity moves through ten-year periods. The system is rigorously computational: the same birth data always produces the same chart.
