Resource is the Ten God that English pages sell as help. You will be supported. Someone will pay. The benefits job is your fate. The library is your income. That is a rescue story hanging on a feed cycle.
Resource stars in BaZi name what feeds the Day Master — study, documents, irregular backing, recovery — not a paycheck source and not a promise that someone else will earn for you. Direct Resource and Indirect Resource are two flavors of support. Income may use support. Support is not income.
Parent labels: the Ten Gods. Money as a sitting: what a wealth reading is. The claim role next door: the wealth element.
Feed is not a wage
Relative to the Day Master, resource is the element that produces you. Water feeds Wood. Wood feeds Fire. The role answers “what restores this self?” It does not answer “who deposits.”
Classical notes like resource for study, seals, the document, the patron. Those metaphors are easy to lift into an HR packet: insurance, a grant, a spouse’s salary. Sometimes the texture rhymes. The rhyme is not a contract. A chart heavy in resource can still invoice.
On a money question, resource belongs in Your Money Nature (do you want a cushion more than a scoreboard?) and in Blind Spots (do you delay a decision because the library feels safer than a price?). It does not belong in a forecast of next year’s income.
Two flavors, one refusal
Opposite polarity is usually Direct Resource (正印, zhèng yìn): the more official feed — a credential, a documented process, help that looks like help. Same polarity is Indirect Resource (偏印, piān yìn): irregular support, unofficial knowledge, help that does not look like help. Too much of either and you never leave the stacks.
| Role | Chart language | A sentence it may not use |
|---|---|---|
| Direct Resource | Official feed; study; the document | “Keep the benefits job forever.” |
| Indirect Resource | Odd support; unofficial knowledge | “A hidden patron will appear.” |
| Stacked resource | The month returns to recover / research | “You will be provided for.” |
| Thin resource | Feed arrives through other roles or time | “You have no safety.” |
Neither flavor is a moral. Direct is not “deserving help.” Indirect is not “unreliable people.” They are textures of how support shows up. Translate them into a habit you can test: a study block, a recovery day after a public week, a willingness to use unofficial knowledge. Do not translate them into an inheritance.
The five-pair money filter is Ten Gods for a money question. Resource is one input there, next to wealth (claim) and output (what you make).
A fictional benefits-package evening
Dev — invented for this page — has a Gui Water Day Master and two Metal stems. A note calls the chart “stacked Direct Resource.” A forum adds: do not leave the job with benefits. The package is your useful life.
Dev wants a smaller role that pays less and costs less sleep. The note becomes a veto. Resource has been promoted from “this chart likes documented support” into “you may not choose.”
A narrower sitting would keep the first sentence and drop the veto. The chart talks about feed through official structures. That can describe why the benefits packet feels like oxygen. It cannot tell Dev the smaller role is forbidden. The ordinary test is a six-month cushion number, a list of which benefits actually get used, and one conversation about a reduced-scope version of the current job. How to read BaZi for a money question is the method for that list.
If Dev also has thin wealth stems, money talk may arrive through resource and officer more than through a native claim. That is a reason to price on purpose. It is not poverty. See reading without fatalism.
Where resource sits beside work
Resource is not a career star. Officer is closer to title. Output is closer to making. Resource is the recovery that makes either livable.
A useful career or money report would not say “resource means teaching” or “resource means government.” It would ask whether the week can feed the Day Master after the work is done. A public role with no recovery plan is a Blind Spot even if the title looks like officer. A quiet role that never ships is a Blind Spot even if the library looks like resource.
Zi Wei would put support-shaped questions in more than one room. 福徳宮 (Wellbeing Palace) is not a resource star. 財帛宮 (Wealth Palace) is not a seal. Do not translate. If a daily line mentions “support,” ask which engine spoke.
Whisper’s daily layer currently uses simplified Zi Wei symbolism. It does not sell a completed Wealth or Wellbeing palace report. When a money chapter exists, resource should appear as feed-and-delay language, not as a promised wage. This page is that vocabulary.
Do not run a resource paragraph through a relationship checkout to decide who “provides.” That is the couple misuse of the same word.
A short use list
- Name whether resource is loud, thin, or arriving as yearly weather.
- Say what it feeds in ordinary language: study, sleep, a documented process, unofficial help.
- Ask whether that feed is starving a decision you already owe — a rate, a move, a smaller role.
- Write one recovery habit or one delay you will stop. Close the book.
If the paragraph made money more mythical than last month’s outflows, it failed.
Frequently asked questions
Does a strong resource star mean I will always have income?
No. It means the chart talks about being fed. Income is a price, a role, and a month of actual deposits.
Is Indirect Resource a warning about unstable money?
It names irregular support, not a curse on your account. Unstable money is a cash-flow fact. Keep the fact.
Should I choose a job for the benefits if resource is my useful god?
Useful god is a balance preference, not an industry. Benefits can be part of a livable week. They are not a god. See the useful god and work.
Can resource replace the wealth element?
No. Feed and claim are different verbs. A chart can have one, both, or neither as visible stems. Time cycles can still bring either as weather.
