The Birthday number is the calendar day you were born, used as a numerological tool. Born on the 4th: Birthday 4. Born on the 23rd: 2+3=5, or, in some houses, the 23 is kept as a compound and also reduced. It is not the Life Path. Life Path uses year, month, and day.
Think of it as a particular instrument inside the orchestra. Life Path is the piece. Birthday is a solo that keeps returning. Month plus day is a different reduction: attitude number.

Calculation
Take the day of the month (1–31).
- 1–9: the Birthday number is itself.
- 10, 19, 28: reduce to 1 (10=1+0; 19=1+9=10=1; 28=10=1). Some readers keep 19 as a karmic debt note.
- 11, 22: often kept as masters, or reduced to 2 and 4.
- 13, 14, 16: reduced to 4, 5, 7, with optional karmic-debt commentary.
- Other teens and twenties: add the two digits.
You do not need a time or a place. Midnight-edge births still have a civic date. If the certificate and the family story disagree, that is a records problem, not a mystical one.

Read the reduced digit as a specialty of the Life Path.
Life Path 7, Birthday 3: the path is inquiry; the specialty is voice — the 7 who has to say it.
Life Path 2, Birthday 8: the path is pairing; the specialty is stakes — the diplomat who can close.
Life Path 5, Birthday 4: the path is change; the specialty is form — the traveler who still packs a list.
Do not write a full personality from the day alone. Birth-month personality research is already a weak genre; see birth month research. A day-of-month number is even thinner as science. It is a mnemonic.
Compound Days People Over-Story
11 and 22. Master-number theater. Read as 11/2 or 22/4 if you use masters; otherwise 2 and 4.
13, 14, 16, 19. Karmic-debt overlay. Optional. If the language of debt makes you worse at living, skip the overlay.
1, 10, 19, 28. All reduce to 1. They are not four different fates. The compound can be a footnote (19 as 1 with a debt story; 10 as 1 with a 0 as “potential”) — or just 1.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Birthday number the same as Life Path if I was born on the 7th? Only if the rest of the date also reduces in a way that lands on 7. Usually no.
