An offer includes a city you have never lived in. A page says the Travel Palace is “activated” and treats the square as a ticket. The palace does not fly.
The Travel Palace (遷移宮, qiānyígōng) is the movement room on a Zi Wei plate: leaving, being seen away from the door, how the road meets you — not a flight, a visa, a remote-job forecast, or proof that this year is the year to move. It can describe a quality of engaging elsewhere. It cannot book the elsewhere.
Rooms around it: the twelve palaces. The job-function still lives in 官禄宮. What any work sitting is for: what a career reading is. Method when the fork is a role: how to read Zi Wei for work.
What movement can mean
Classical labels say travel and migration. The domain is the world outside the door. That can be a secondment, a commute that changed the week, a client city, a screen that makes every meeting feel abroad, or the simple fact of not being in the room you started from. It is not automatically an airport.
Stars in 遷移宮 describe a quality of occupying that outside: public, cautious, frequently rebuilt, or whatever the major’s court job is. They do not rank cities. They do not score a remote policy.
| Object | A fair use | A refusal |
|---|---|---|
| Stars in 遷移宮 | How leaving and being seen elsewhere tend to feel | “Move in March.” |
| Career plus Travel | Job-function and the road | A printed posting in another country |
| Life facing Travel | Who you are against how the road meets you | Proof that home is “wrong” |
| A year mark on a Travel star | Weather in the movement room | A visa approval |
On the usual square, Life (命宮) faces Travel. That pair is useful: how I occupy a life, against how the outside occupies me. It is still not a relocation committee. Ming Gong may color the walk. It may not steal the job, and it may not steal the road.
An empty-of-majors Travel Palace is not “you will never leave.” The movement sentence is then told by minors, transformations, or the facing self-room. Do not pay to have it activated.
Birth time moves the pointer. Unknown hour: every palace label, including 遷移宮, is a guess. Do not rectify from a mood that liked “adventure.”
Travel is not Career, and not a ninth house
官禄宮 is the work room. You can love the function and hate the road, or the reverse. A louder Travel star does not mean the job-function wants a stage. A quiet Travel star does not mean you must stay on one floor. Keep the clauses separate.
Parents Palace (父母宮) can name the elder who is asking you to go, or the origin you would leave. Parents and work is that room. Add it when the Tuesday named that person — not because travel always implies a family argument.
Western ninth-house language is a sloppy import. Philosophy, visas, and “higher learning” are a bundle this room does not owe you. If you want houses, use them on a Western chart. The Midheaven talks about public work on that map. It is not 遷移宮 with a Latin sticker.
BaZi does not use this room at all. A Luck Pillar that “favors travel” is a different clock. Keep both sentences if you use both maps. Averaging them into “80% move luck” is product UI.
A fictional secondment
Dev — invented for this page — is offered a six-month seat in another office. A feed says his Travel Palace “wants movement.” He hears a verdict. He starts pricing flights before he has asked what the seat is.
A narrower sitting would keep the offer as the question. Career might describe a preference for metered staff work. Travel might describe an outside that feels loud once he leaves the door. Life, facing Travel, might describe someone who occupies a life more quietly than a new city wants on week one.
The useful sentence is: “In this system, the job-function may stay familiar, and the road may not.” The next step is a written list — what the six months cost in rent, sleep, and who covers the old desk — not a cosmic yes. Movement weather is not a ticket.
Pay that changes with the city is 財帛宮, a different room. Do not let a raise steal a travel question.
A short order when the week is a road
Stay inside this order. The general plate can wait.
- Write the actual movement. A city, a commute, a remote month, a client week. If you cannot name it, you do not have a Travel question yet.
- Read 官禄宮 first if the fork is still a role. The road is extra. The function is the job.
- Then name 遷移宮 — major, empty, or told-elsewhere. Domain, not destination.
- Let Life color the pair if the facing room is in the week. “I want a low temperature, and the road runs hot” is a tension you can use. “Therefore stay forever” is a verdict.
- One ordinary next step. A housing number, a coverage plan, a three-month test with a return date. “Quit and go” is instruction the plate may not give.
Decade cycles that rotate a “current” palace can wait. Natal rooms first, or the pointer will feel like a slot machine that books flights.
How Whisper sits with this page
A daily line that mentions a trip is still a Life-colored prompt. Whisper’s daily layer does not walk 遷移宮. It uses simplified Zi Wei symbolism, not a completed twelve-palace Career or Travel engine. There is no flight-shaped report to buy, and no URL that should pretend otherwise.
This journal names the room so a later sitting, if it exists, can keep movement and work from becoming one “expand” sentence. If you only wanted a morning note, stay with the note. Do not upgrade “elsewhere” into a lease.
Frequently asked questions
Does a loud Travel Palace mean I should relocate? No. Volume in the movement room is a description of how leaving may feel. A city still has rent, a desk, and a person you have to ask.
Is remote work a Travel question? It can be, if the week is about not being in the original room. It is still not a software forecast. Read Career if the unclear thing is the function, not the door.
Can it tell me which country is lucky? No. Ranking places is advertising. The palace does not hold a map of airports.
Do I need a birth time? For a stable palace label, yes. Hour moves Life and slides Travel with it. Unknown hour: leave 遷移宮 open.
