You know their birthday. You do not know the hour. A form still offers a full-looking report. The honest question is not “can the software run?” It is “which sentences remain available?”
A birthday-only compatibility reading compares two full dates without treating missing times as noon facts. Numerology is on solid calculation ground. Western astrology can still speak to many planetary contacts. BaZi can still compare year, month, and day pillars. Houses, the Ascendant, and the Hour pillar should stay off the table.
This page is the product-shaped companion to what two birthdays can tell you. The Western caution list lives in synastry without a birth time. If you are deciding whether to hunt for a time, read do I need a birth time for compatibility.
What a full date already contains
A civil birth date gives you the year, month, and day. That is enough for:
- A Life Path number and other date-based numerology. See numerology compatibility.
- The Sun and, on most days, the other planets used in a natal sketch. The Moon is the frequent exception: it can change sign on the same calendar date.
- Three of BaZi’s four pillars. The Hour pillar is the one you lose.
That is already a reading. It is not a broken reading. It is a narrower one.
Two dates also give you a year of birth, which magazine pairings throw away. The year is what makes a Life Path number and a BaZi Year pillar possible. A “March 14 with March 14” blurb that ignores 1994 versus 2001 is not birthday-only compatibility. It is a sign pair wearing a date costume.
What you should refuse to read
Refuse house overlays. Refuse “their Venus in your 7th.” Refuse a confident Rising-sign pairing. Refuse a BaZi Hour-pillar story about night-versus-day temperament.
Refuse a tool that will not say it used a default time. A complete wheel with a missing time is a picture of a guess.
If the Moon is central to a sentence and you do not have a time, treat that sentence as provisional. On some dates the Moon holds a sign all day. On others it does not.
How to write the question when times are missing
Do not ask the reading to describe “how they see me,” which often leans on houses. Ask about pace, priorities, repair, or planning — themes the date-based engines can actually discuss.
Useful: “We like the same Fridays and stall when a trip needs booking.” Less useful: “What house is their Sun in for me?”
The question guide at eight questions still applies. Skip the prompts that assume a timed chart.
A fictional pair with two dates
Maya knows Jordan was born 14 March 1994. Jordan knows Maya’s date and nothing else. They enter both birthdays, leave time blank, and write about a repeating argument: Maya wants the weekend sketched by Wednesday; Jordan wants Saturday morning to stay open.
A numerology paragraph can talk about different appetites for a mapped life. A BaZi day-pillar note can talk about different kinds of support. A Western paragraph can talk about planetary style without inventing an Ascendant. None of those sentences can honestly say “your 4th house is crowded.”
Their next step is still a conversation about Wednesday versus Saturday, not a search for a hospital record they may never find.
What Whisper does with dates alone
Whisper’s Relationship Reading accepts two dates and a written situation without requiring time or city. The preview and the full report should stay inside what those dates support. Adding a guessed 12:00 to make the chart look finished is the wrong kind of completeness.

Start a birthday-only relationship reading.
Bring the stall you can point to. Two dates plus that stall is enough to begin. A missing hour is not a reason to skip the comparison, and not a reason to fake one.
How to read the output
- Scan for house language and Hour-pillar language. Set those paragraphs aside if you did not enter times.
- Keep Life Path and Day Master sentences as vocabulary, not as roles.
- Check whether the Moon is used as if its sign were certain.
- End with one ordinary question you can ask the other person.
What you need is the checklist if you later find a time and want to rerun the sitting.
Questions readers ask
Is a birthday-only reading less “accurate”?
It is less detailed in the time-sensitive layers. It is more accurate than a timed reading built on a guessed hour, because it does not pretend to know those layers.
Can I add a time later?
Yes. Treat that as a new sitting, and notice which sentences actually change. If nothing time-sensitive was at stake, you did not lose much by starting with dates.
Are two Sun signs a birthday-only reading?
No. A Sun-sign pair ignores year, numbers, and pillars. A birthday-only reading uses the full dates.
