How to Read a Western Chart for a Career Question

A work question on a natal wheel starts at the Midheaven and the 10th, then lets the 6th and Saturn color the week. Here is a read-order that refuses a job-title forecast.

You have a work fork and a wheel. The mistake is to start with a Sun-sign career list because the Sun is famous, or to start with a Midheaven job catalog because the internet already printed one. The question is about a job-function. The objects for that are the public angle and the public room.

To read a Western chart for a career question, take the question to the Midheaven and the 10th house, let the 6th color the shift, and only then add Saturn or one layer of weather — you are not asking the wheel to print a title. This is a method page, not a sitting, and not a second copy of how to read a natal chart.

The objects: the Midheaven, the 10th house, the Midheaven is not a job title. What the format can claim: what a career reading is. If the fork is pay, use the money method.

Write the question first

“What career should I have?” returns a poster. “What happens when I want a staff craft and this role wants a visible client face?” gives the wheel somewhere to stand.

Write three parts before you open software:

  1. The recent work moment (a review, a silence after a meeting, a weekend project that paid).
  2. What feels unclear.
  3. Which choice is actually yours this month.

You do not need house vocabulary in the question box. Ordinary language is clearer than naming a 10th you have not located. If the unclear thing is money, stop. That is the other method. If it is both, keep two paragraphs.

Unknown birth time: say every house and every Midheaven claim is provisional. Do not rectify from a quiz that liked “leader.” Unknown birth time is the stop.

A short read-order

Stay inside this order. The general natal guide can wait for a day when you do not have a fork.

  1. Name the Midheaven sign as style of visibility, not a job. Mast, not cargo. If you catch yourself writing a profession, delete the line.
  2. Name the 10th house: tenants, or the empty. Public work as a domain. Empty is normal; read the ruler. See empty houses.
  3. Name the 6th only if the week is the shift. Craft, service, the body that shows up. Do not let a satisfying 6th steal a 10th question, or the reverse.
  4. Add Saturn if Saturn actually speaks. In the 10th, on the MC, ruling the 10th. Saturn in the 10th is form, not a late title.
  5. Add one layer of weather. A transit, a solar return cover page, or a Jupiter story that actually touches the public objects. If nothing does, say this season is not about this fork.
  6. Write one description and one next step. “This work can feel public” is description. “Quit on Friday” is instruction. Keep the first. Translate the second into a conversation, a month of scope notes, or a no.

House system belongs in step two, not as a personality test. If two PDFs disagree, pick one system for the month and say which. Whole Sign versus Placidus is the comparison.

Do not import 官禄宮 mid-sentence. If you want Zi Wei work language, use how to read Zi Wei for work on its own plate. Do not import a career tarot spread as confirmation.

A fictional staff-versus-stage week

Avery — invented for this page — has a stable staff role and an offer to become the person clients see. A feed says the Midheaven “wants visibility” because it is in Leo. Avery hears a verdict.

A method sitting would keep the offer as the question. The MC might describe a public story that likes to be seen starting something. The 10th might be quieter than the feed implied — empty, or furnished by a planet that prefers standards. The 6th might describe a shift Avery already knows how to love. Saturn might not even be in the room.

The useful sentence is: “In this system, the public angle can enjoy a stage, and this offer wants a stage as the job.” The next step is a conversation about whether the new role can keep a craft block, not a cosmic yes. How You Create Value is that chapter’s name when a report exists. Avery already has a style. The feed printed a title over it.

What not to do

Do not begin with the Sun. The Sun is the project you keep lighting. It is not a career office. A Sun-sign job list is a birthday column with résumés glued on.

Do not read the 2nd because the offer pays more and then call it a work reading. Pay is a second room.

Do not collect every transit on day one. Natal public objects first, one overlay second. Stacking is how people decide the year is “impossible.”

Do not treat a daily line that mentions work as this method. That is the honesty of the next section.

How Whisper sits with this page

This is a method you can walk on a timed natal chart. Whisper’s daily layer is simplified Zi Wei symbolism: Life quality plus the year’s four marks. It does not walk a Midheaven and a 10th every morning. A work-flavored daily sentence is not step one through six.

A full Western career sitting would need a timed wheel the current product does not sell as a Career report. The journal is the vocabulary and the order. If you wanted two people compared, that is a relationship reading — the wrong door for a job fork.

Questions readers ask

Can I skip the 6th and only read the 10th? You can start at the 10th and the MC. Add the 6th when the week is the shift. Skipping the 6th is rarer than skipping the 10th. Beginners usually steal the other way — they start with a Sun-sign list.

What if no transit touches the MC or 10th? Then this season’s weather is not about this fork. That is a complete answer. Do not hunt a glyph in a random house to keep the sitting dramatic.

Is a Vedic dashamsha the same method? No. Dashamsha is another instrument. Do not translate a varga into a tropical 10th and call it confirmation.
