Dates are easy. The empty paragraph is the part people rush, then blame when the sitting sounds like every other person born that week who “wants a better job.”
Context for a career reading is a short account of one recent work moment, what feels unclear, and the choice that is actually yours. It is not a résumé, a case against a manager, or a request that 官禄宮 (Career Palace) print a title.
The prompt list that feeds this box is eight questions for a career reading. The format: what a career reading is. If the live fork is a change of seat: a career reading for a job change. Roles rather than costumes: how you create value.
Three parts, in that order
Write the moment first. A review that went quiet, a project you were asked to present, a weekend piece of work that paid, a title that appeared in a hallway sentence. The moment should be recent enough that you remember the actual words, or the actual absence of words.
Then write the uncertainty in one sentence. “I do not know whether I want a quieter craft or the visible version of this role” is an uncertainty. “This job is wrong for me” is a conclusion. The sitting can explore the first. The second asks it to prosecute.
Then write the choice that belongs to you. “I want language for asking whether this posting can keep a craft block” is yours. “I want them to promote me” assigns the work to someone who is not in the form.
You do not need palace vocabulary. Ordinary language is clearer than naming 官禄宮 you have not located. A Midheaven, a BaZi output star, or a Career Palace can meet a week you already lived. They cannot meet a blank “what should I do.”
If the unclear thing is a number — rent, a cushion, an invoice — stop. That is context for a wealth reading. Work and money can travel in the same month and still need two paragraphs.
What to include and what to leave out
| Include | Leave out |
|---|---|
| Role type and roughly how long you have been in it | A full job history since school |
| One recent event, with the words you remember | Every similar slight from the last year |
| What you have already asked, if anything | Guesses about a manager’s private motives |
| Birth details you actually have | A noon time invented so houses or palaces look complete |
| The decision that is still yours this month | A request for the 2027 title, a salary, or a verdict on a layoff |
If the issue is scope, you do not need medical history, a pay stub, or a pasted Slack archive.
How to read Zi Wei for a work question starts with the same three parts before the plate. A sentence that says “my birth time is unknown” is more honest than a paragraph that treats 官禄宮 as settled.
Do not name Spouse Palace (夫妻宮) unless the week is actually “this job versus this bond.” A relationship reading is a different product.
A short template you can copy
Use this shape, then delete any line that does not apply:
“I have been in [this kind of role] for [a rough span]. Last [day or week], [what happened in two sentences]. I keep wondering [uncertainty]. What I can actually decide is [your next step or question]. I am not asking the reading to [the verdict you are tempted to request — a hire, a firing, a salary, a calling].”
The last line is there to stop you. People forget to write it, then feel betrayed when 命宮 (Life Palace) will not become a hiring committee.
If you have two unrelated questions — a title and a cushion, or a parent’s shop and a posting — pick one sitting or write two labeled paragraphs. A box that tries to hold both without a split will return weather.
A fictional rewrite
This person is invented. Sam starts with nine hundred words: every job since college, three managers, a list of emails, and a request to know “what career I should have.” The sitting has nowhere to stand except a generic worker with that birthday.
Sam tries again in five sentences. “I have been on a data team for four years. Last Tuesday I was asked to present the project I built, and I froze. I do not know whether I want that kind of visibility or a quieter craft. I want a way to test one public piece of work this month without treating the test as a resignation. I am not asking the reading to name a new profession.”
The second version still has feeling. It also has a place for a Career Palace, a Midheaven, or an output star to compare visibility against recovery. The first version asked the software to live the decade.
Bring the context to a question, not to a shop
Whisper does not currently sell a full Career Palace report. The daily layer uses simplified Zi Wei symbolism, not a completed 官禄宮 engine. This template is for a practitioner, a plate you read yourself, or a later sitting if one exists. It is not a checkout, and this page will not invent a career URL.
A useful career or wealth report would still need this box. Without it, five chapters describe a poster. With it, chapter 02 can name a style you recognize and chapter 05 can name a Tuesday.
If you only wanted a daily prompt, stay with the daily note. Do not paste a résumé into a morning form that cannot walk the work room.
Questions readers ask
How long should the context be?
Long enough to name one moment and one uncertainty. A tight paragraph beats a chapter. If you need more than about two hundred words, you probably have two sittings.
Should I write it in first person?
Yes. The sitting is for the person filling the box. Third-person case notes make you sound like a specimen, and they make a manager sound like a defendant.
What if I do not know my birth time?
Say so, and leave the field blank. Dates still support some BaZi and numerology language. Palace labels and houses should stay open. Do not complete the hour so the chart looks finished.
Editorial note
The template on this page is an editorial writing aid, not a counseling intake and not a live career product. Reviewed against Whisper’s current offering on October 23, 2026: daily readings and a Relationship Reading exist; a full Career report does not.
